Congratulations to the following students who are taken part in the Duathlon on Tuesday 10th May at Ruapuna Raceway. They have been training well since they have been back at school this term. The event consists of a 2km run, followed by a 6km bike around the track then another 1km run to finish. So all in all a challenging event.

Centrals Duathlon
We took 11 children from Ilam Primary to the Centrals Duathlon at the Ruapuna Raceway on a very chilly and windy day. The children competed in their age groups against hundreds of very tough competitors. They started with a 2km run, followed by a 6km bike ride and finishing with a final 1km run. The children found the biking leg particularly difficult with the strong, cold wind blowing in their faces. In the end the Ilam children represented our school very well, especially considering it was a first-time experience for many of them. Congratulations to everyone who challenged themselves and got involved in this great event.
Ilam Duathlon-Triathlon
We had so much fun during our school Duathlon-Triathlon on Thursday the 26th February 2015. All year levels had the option of running through water and despite the cold weather, many decided to take on this challenge.
