This event will take place this week: Thursday 28 February from 12:45 until approximately 2:45pm at Jellie Park. Please find below a schedule for the events. We will endeavour to keep to the times as much as possible. These events do happen very quickly so make sure you are there in plenty of time to watch your child. Please Note: START TIMES ARE ONLY AN APPROXIMATE GUIDE Timing : As there are only two heats maximum in any event, heats will NOT be timed. The first four in each heat will qualify for the final except where there are 9 in the heats - two heats will be swum with the first three qualifying for the final of 6 .

Congratulations to the 18 students who represented Ilam at the sports on Thursday 15 March. It was so exciting to watch you all compete so well. The results for these will be official soon and the names of students who are now competing at the Canterburys will be announced.
Many thanks to the PTA for the funding for the new school swimming caps. The students were proudly modelling them at Jellie Park.

Huge thanks to everyone who was able to come along to the Senior School Swimming sports on Friday. They were a huge success with many students achieving fantastic results and challenging themselves.
Many Thanks to the parents who were able to support us with this, as without your help these events would not go ahead so smoothly:

Swimming Sports Programme
Centrals Swimming Event 2016
The Primary Sport Canterbury swimming sports event was held last Thursday 7th April at Selwyn Aquatic Centre. Congratulations to our two Ilam School students, Gracie Liu and Maddy Horton who represented the West Zone in their events.
They both did themselves proud.
Gracie came 8th out of 33 competitors in the 10 year old freestyle.
Maddy came 5th out of 31 in the 10 year old Breaststroke event.
Maddy also entered the Open Butterfly and worked hard to come 10th out of 28.
Such an awesome effort girls.

Congratulations to the senior school swim team who represented Ilam at the West Zone swimming sports on Tuesday 15th March: The team was Maddy Horton, Annika MacDonald, Indy Phillips, Poppy Gin, Nadia da Costa Silva, Luca Sanders, Isabel Shannon, Riley Jones, Hugh Ryan, Hillary Walker, Gracie Liu, Maia Devereux, Madi Thomas. Well done on you fantastic swimming and sportsmanship at the zones. A huge thank you to our parents for their support. It is very much appreciated.

Senior Swimming at Jellie Park
The Senior children from Ilam had an excellent afternoon at the Swimming Sports. It was fantastic to see them challenging themselves in several different events and listening to the children supporting each other so well. Many of our swimmers went on to compete at the West-Zone swimming sports where two students (Oscar and Maddy) managed to find a place on the podium.
