BASKETBALL

2018

We are very excited about having two Year 5-6 basketball teams at Ilam School during 2018. The rials and trainings have begun extremely well and we are very excited to have Matthew back again helping to coach and mange the teams. Games will be played on a Friday night at Middleton Grange School Hall. Once the draw has been completed for round one it will be put onto the Blog. 

Please follow this link for the notice that has been emailed out on 3rd May regarding the West Zone Tournament to be held on Monday 7th May. This tournament is for the Ilam Thunder team. Students have been told who is playing in this.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR ILAM THUNDER TEAM! 

They had a fantastic tournament yesterday, Monday 7th May at Bishopdale YMCA. The first game was a draw against Burnside then the second game was a win against Fendalton. 

This means that they go through to represent the West Zone at the centrals being held at Pioneer Stadium on 25th June.

WOW What can we say: This team are really motivated, it is so great to go to the courts every Friday night and watch. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship is amazing. To date the team have won 3 games, drawn one and lost one. Keep up the fantastic playing Ilam Thunder. 

Wow, what a great start that the team has had. 2 wins from 2 games. An awesome effort. Many thanks for all of the support from our parents and school mates. It is great to have others there cheering us on. Many thanks to Matthew our fantastic coach. He is always there to train the students on a Wednesday lunchtime and then comes to the games on a Friday Night.
